Participate in India MSME Summit

By RK Rishikesh Sinha, Joint Secretary (Publications)

The ongoing global economic crisis is causing enormous destruction to financial systems, trade in goods and services and to employment opportunities both in developed and developing countries. It is already being touted as the much bigger crisis than the deep depression of 1930s. Contrary to earlier assessment, it has adversely impacted a large number of Indian MSMEs in its wake. Responding to these challenges, Government of India had to come about with two stimulus packages. More are likely.

Now

Have the twin stimulus packages addressed the MSME concerns?...
What is the current status?...
What challenges lie ahead in short and medium term?...

To deliberate on questions such as these, and many more, in technical partnership with FISME, The Economic Times is organizing India MSME Summit on 13th Feb 2009, The Oberoi Hotel, New Delhi. The Agenda is enclosed below.

Dr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia- Dy. Chairman Planning Commission, is to be the Chief Guest and Mr. Pawan Kumar Bansal, Hon’ble Minister of State for Finance, Guest of Honour. Besides CMDs of State Bank of India (SBI), Punjab National Bank (PNB) and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), Secretaries to GoI from Ministries of Commerce as well as MSME will also be present.
